Participant requests for reasonable accommodation may be given verbally or in writing to the Case Manager or Program Director. The Program Director will consider and approve/deny requests in a timely manner. Every effort will be made to approve requests for accommodation by identifying solutions that meet participant needs. Should the request require significant cost or effort to complete, the Program Director will seek approval from the Chief Operating Officer. The Case Manager will document all requests and outcomes in the participant’s case file.

Program participants that have had their requests denied and/or believe they have been unfairly treated should petition the Executive Director in writing for reconsideration within 10 days. The Executive Director, can be contacted at (530) 661-1218. The Executive Director will review the petition and provide a written response within 10 days.

If a client disagrees with the Executive Director’s review, they can request that the Director forward their appeal for final review by a committee of community housing program representatives established and led by the Yolo County Homeless Coordinator. The committee will provide a written response within 10 days of the referral. To avoid conflicts of interest or the appearance of partiality, officers, agents, and staff of the Yolo Wayfarer Center (DBA Fourth and Hope) and the landlord, if applicable, are excluded from participation in the final committee review process and must recuse themselves.
